Ohio Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services (ODMHAS)

July 1, 2013, the Ohio Department of Mental Health (ODMH) and the Ohio Department of Alcohol and Drug Addiction Services (ODADAS) combined to form a single agency -- the Ohio Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services (ODMHAS).

The Ohio Substance Abuse Monitoring (OSAM) Network

According to the Ohio Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services (ODMHAS) Services:  "The Ohio Substance Abuse Monitoring (OSAM) Network is a collaborative effort funded by the Ohio Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services (ODMHAS) in association with stakeholders in the substance abuse services community throughout Ohio. The primary mission of OSAM is to provide a comprehensive picture of substance abuse trends in Ohio’s major metropolitan and rural areas every six months."  Frequently asked questions are included in the OSAMH Brochure FAQ.

Drug Trends - These reports provide general epidemiological descriptions of substance abuse trends throughout the state, focusing on drug availability, prices, quality and abuse patterns.  Reports are published on a bi-annual basis shortly after OSAM researchers meet as a group in January and June of each year.

OSAM-O-GRAMS - 1 page snapshots describing important and emerging drug abuse trends through the state.

Targeted Response Initiative
Targeted Response Initiatives (TRI) are periodic reports focused on specific topics.  The most recent ODMHAS OSAM TRI (2012) focuses on substance abuse among those in the 18 through 25 year-old age groups. Older reports can be found on the Targeted Response Initiatives (TRI) section of the ODMHAS website.
